Committees
Members who serve on Black Chamber committees view it as an investment. They attest it is a rewarding experience and a sure way of becoming visible in the community.

Annual Awards Ball / Events
Plan and execute events surrounding and including the annual awards ball.

Business & Economic Development
Develops and implements and strategies which enhance economic opportunities that are available to members.

Constitution & Bylaws
Initiates amendments or alternations to the organization structure by making recommendations to the Board of Director and/or the Membership.

Finance
Guides and makes recommendations on matters such as budgets, programs to be funded, and contribution to other organizations. Reviews audit findings, submits recommendations to the Board. Has the responsibility of developing policies and assisting in the establishment of the budget process.

Fundraising
Coordinates all activities for the purpose of raising funds for the general operating budget of the Black Chamber.

Program and Activities
Initiates ongoing projects to increase the visibility of the Chamber, by working closely with the Fundraising committee, in most instances.


Public Relations
Develops and implements opportunities for publicity that will enhance the image of the Black Chamber of Commerce locally, and the nationally through promotion and marketing. Strategies included working to implement the media relations plan and developing ongoing opportunities for media coverage.

Membership
Develop and implements procedures that will increase the numbers of members. Is responsible for ongoing membership renewal campaigns.

Tourism and Cultural Heritage
Identifies areas and artifacts of the community for historic preservation efforts, develops and directs cultural organizations (i.e. religious, family, educational, etc.) to utilize the Kansas City area for reunions, meetings and conventions, assist in the creation and implementation of yearly tourism campaigns, events and supports efforts to direct tourism to local members of the BCCGKC.

The Merchant Exchange Incentive Program is specially created for the members of the Black Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City, Inc. This program is designed to encourage members-to-member business transactions, networking opportunities, offer special savings, and to promote the goods/services our members provide.
